Edgardo Donato was born on April 14, 1897 in Buenos Aires.
His/her father directs a chamber orchestra to Montevideo. He frames very close the musical training of his son who studies with the academy Franz Liszt of Montevideo.
At 21 years, it is released from the paternal yoke to join the orchestra of the "Quevedo negro", bandoneonist and Enrique Delfino with the piano. In 1922, it composes its first tango "Julian", then, of the compositions which will become famous and always played today such: With media luz, sung by Rosita Quiroga, T.B.C, Oiga, El Huracan.
In 1927, it melts an orchestra with, inter alia, his Osvaldo brothers and Asciano and Roberto Zerillo. The orchestra is called: "9 aces of the tango, the ever seizing indigenous orchestra of tango met more". The singers Shine Diaz and Azucena
Maizani joins it in its new formation.
Let us announce the extraordinary quality of the singers who will succèderont such there: Felix Gutierez, Horacio Lagos, Lita Morals, Hugo de Carril, Juan Alessio and Romeo Gavio. Its orchestra is included in the band of film, "tango" of 1933.
The orchestra of Edgardo Donato of years 30-40 presents a development broader than the precedent. Donato often intervenes in violin solo with its famous "pizzicati", to grip the cords of the violin like those of a guitar, and presents also one of the best harmonies which is between the singer and the musicians, supported on a muscular rhythmic basis, accompanied by a melody rich person line. A treat for the dancers and the music lovers.
It dies out on February 15, 1963. |
