Roberto Firpo was born on May 10, 1884 in Las flora in the province from Buenos Aires.
Very early, it earns its living with multiples "odd jobs"; at the same time, it learns only the violin and later the piano. Thanks to the meeting with Juan Deambroggio says "Bachicha", it takes courses of music with maestro Alfredo Bevilacqua;

A few days later, it melts a trio with the violonist Tito Rocatagliatta and the bandoneonist, Eduardo Arolas. The piano had just made its entry in the tango, the port of smoking was going soon to follow.
Its best orchestral work surely dates from the years 1926-1935 thanks also to the musicians of talents which cross his orchestra the such pianist Osvaldo Pugliese,the violonists, Antonio Rossi and Cayetano Puglisi, the bandoneonists,Osvaldo
Fresedo and Pedro Maffia and the double bass player, Leopoldo Thomson which invented a series of effects that the typical orchestras adopted of start, such as Canyengue which consisted in striking bow and dish of the hand the cords of the instrument.
